Anurag Singh Thakur is a prominent Indian politician and sports administrator. He is the current Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting and Youth Affairs & Sports in the Second Modi ministry. He is a four-time elected Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh.

Thakur was born on October 24, 1974, in Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, to Prem Kumar Dhumal, a former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. He did his schooling from Dayanand Model Senior Secondary School in Jalandhar, Punjab, and his bachelor’s degree from Doaba College, Jalandhar.
Thakur began his political career in 2008 when he was elected to the Lok Sabha in a by-election from Hamirpur. He has since been re-elected in 2009, 2014, and 2019. In the 16th Lok Sabha, he was appointed as the Chief Whip, becoming the youngest to assume the post.
In addition to his political career, Thakur is also a sports enthusiast and administrator. He served as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from 2016 to 2017. He is also the President of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association.
